NN Connect Live

Life insurer NN Insurance Belgium and MediaMixer kick off with digital interactive event NN Connect Live. Painting with Light, Belgian-based specialist in visual design and light technology, and NEP Belgium, specialist in festival and sports broadcasting, proudly present Virtual Event Expo V2, the renewed platform for online events. This second-generation platform offers a unique experience for hybrid events where live interaction is combined with a virtual setting. Using the latest web technology, event managers now have real-time control over the entire happening. The synergy with the Virtual Event Studio results in a dynamic, hybrid and fully interactive event for exhibitors and event organizers!

Result

Life insurer NN Insurance Belgium kicked off the improved platform with NN Connect Live. All functions of the new Virtual Event Expo V2 version were optimally utilized, including two live pages controlled from the Virtual Event Studio with an interactive Q&A and poll widget. The complete virtual setting with lobby, exhibition hall and sales café was designed in 3D by the Painting with Light team. Guests were welcomed in the lobby with a personalized video and had access to 28 stands. Visitors were able to connect with the sales manager by video calls and direct chat. There was also an e-learning platform with 32 videos, including advanced visitor-level analytics for credit accreditation, and access to 26 videos through the Vimeo channel.

Dorien Leyers, Event Director at MediaMixer & Grace K. previously organized several live events for Life insurer NN Insurance Belgium and sees many advantages for the virtual format of NN Connect Live:

“With this virtual format we almost reached double the number of participants than previous years and all sessions will also remain available online for a certain period of time. Naturally there is a bit more work in the preparation and planning because a lot of sessions are pre-recorded, but this also contributes to a better quality and more diversification. Our clients and all participants highly valued the dynamic mix of live chats on 3D-stands, participating in live interactive sessions from the studio and the pre-recorded videos. Katleen Selleslagh Katleen has been a video programmer and operator at Painting with Light for more than 10 years. According to colleagues, she is blessed with an extraordinarily sharp eye, and she is precise, solution-oriented, and persistent. She loves the challenge of new projects, and the energy from the audience during live shows. Among the many interesting projects, Throwback stands out in particular. Long days, it’s true, but the atmosphere at shows is amazing. The ‘old’ K3 farewell tour is still fresh in her memory. Katleen at the top!
Jo Segers Jo has been working at Painting with Light as a designer for three years. He usually makes a rough sketch of his initial ideas for a new concept. Pretty old school, right? He translates these sketches into a digital sketch that serves as a basis for a 3D model he uses to make digital animations for the project. He rather enjoys communicating with the client about the designs, and he also looks after installation programming on some of the projects (usually with Céline). He loves the variety of his work. Each project has its own action plan, and this is different every time. He’s got a great anecdote featuring a colleague and a folding chair, but he’s keeping it a secret. That’s right, he’s very discreet too. As far as projects go, he has good memories of the 2019 Niels Destadsbader concert in the Sportpaleis. Not just because it was the first Sportpaleis show he was closely involved in, but also because of the great atmosphere.
Michel Mélotte Michel has been the mastermind behind our virtual studio events since the pandemic. Before this, he worked at Painting with Light as an operations manager. He was a video coordinator for more than a decade in a previous professional life. All in all, he has gathered plenty of mileage in our business over the years - an advantage during his average working day of helping clients making a success of their virtual events. He looks after both preparation and implementation. He is a helpful, solution-oriented, and dynamic super-fixer who gets a kick out of diversity and discovering new technologies.
Luc Peumans As a child, Luc was already fascinated by light and technology, which inspired him to study engineering alongside his musical hobbies. His passion for light took off when he became a member of the Symbolica dance theatre. During his studies, he gained his first work experience as a light technician, designer and operator for national and international concerts and shows. This was the seed for the establishment of Painting with Light in 1999. Luc is a creative perfectionist who will never shy away from a challenge. He cherishes time with his two children Sam and Bo, and he also likes being on a golf course. He cites the “Clouseau in het Lang” concert from 2005 and the 2018 musical project ‘40-‘45 as memorable challenges, that succeeded thanks to groundbreaking and enthusiastic teamwork. Should we even mention that he is proud as punch of his team?
