Video artwork Eternal Pulse

At LEaT con 25 in Hamburg, Eternal Pulse greeted visitors with a captivating display of motion and light. The hanging artwork was the result of a collaboration between Belgian companies Painting With Light (PWL) and FRAMELED. Combining innovative LED technology with creative design, the installation became one of the key visual highlights of the expo, emphasizing the growing role of sustainable solutions in the event industry.

Challenge

The project required an installation that was both visually impressive and technically feasible within the constraints of the venue. The piece needed to demonstrate how cutting-edge technology could be reused and repurposed across events, reducing waste without compromising artistic impact.

Result

Using FRAMELED’s modular Pulse technology, the team at PWL developed a concept centered on two intertwined helix shapes, representing the connection between technology and creativity. Our designers created the design and motion content, while FRAMELED handled the technical integration and construction. The result was Eternal Pulse, a 16-meter-long installation built from 320 FRAMELED™ Pulse Q100 video strips.

Siemen Dewael After ten years of experience in camera and video, Siemen still gets amazed by the flamboyant glow of LED screens. He likes to know how things work and prefers to use innovative technology to make creative ideas from colleagues and clients become reality. As project manager & technical designer at Painting With Light, he can further expand his expertise on multimedia and video to always provide the right answer to your question. 'Good enough is not enough' is his starting point to strive for just that little bit extra to stand out from the crowd.
Milan Nullens Milan Nullens, our creative designer. He graduated as an Interior Architect-Scenographer and, alongside his role at PWL, is also active as a teacher in artistic subjects. His journey into design began at a young age when, at 12, he experimented with Sketchup to shape imaginative stages and decors, envisioning himself as a DJ. Fast forward to today, he's not as fond of the spotlight but prefers a creative role behind the scenes. Milan is passionate about sketching and drawing. He strongly believes in the power of manual techniques to swiftly capture the creative process. A good sketch is a valuable asset for conveying ideas without many words. He thrives on creating enchanting, inspiring spaces and experiences, with the goal of realizing those unforgettable WOW moments.
Jo Segers Jo has been working at Painting with Light as a designer for three years. He usually makes a rough sketch of his initial ideas for a new concept. Pretty old school, right? He translates these sketches into a digital sketch that serves as a basis for a 3D model he uses to make digital animations for the project. He rather enjoys communicating with the client about the designs, and he also looks after installation programming on some of the projects (usually with Céline). He loves the variety of his work. Each project has its own action plan, and this is different every time. He’s got a great anecdote featuring a colleague and a folding chair, but he’s keeping it a secret. That’s right, he’s very discreet too. As far as projects go, he has good memories of the 2019 Niels Destadsbader concert in the Sportpaleis. Not just because it was the first Sportpaleis show he was closely involved in, but also because of the great atmosphere.
